Because I haven't heard back from anyone from Al's Famous Pizza, I posted my concern on the stores Facebook page last night and this morning my post was removed. Not a way to treat customers who are trying to resolve an issue caused by an employee of your company.

The pizza is hand- tossed and delicious! These folks have a limited menu which allows them to be specialized and do what they do really well. Oh, did I mention that their pricing is a bargain? What more could you ask for? Awesome!!!

First time here. Got the lunch special, 2 slices up to 3 toppings and a drink for 5 bucks! Can't beat that! Pizza was excellent. Will definitely be back.

Went again..... Pizzas still great! Don't get the wings thou.... Perhaps I'm a wing snob being from buffalo but they were baked and sauce was runny.... Meh. Don't let that keep you away!

We go there almost every Saturday/ Sunday. The pizza is delicious. Not something you expect from a small town restaurant. The sandwiches (or subs. Whatever you wanna call them) are really good also. We love it and the staff is so friendly. If someone says it's slow it's because they are taking the time to make it by hand with care!

I don't know if 4 stars is really appropriate. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this pizza was. (Probably because I found it hard to enjoy any meal we had while on vacation in this area and I admit that I wasn't expecting it to be even remotely good.) I was wrong. It was delicious. I cannot comment on much else since I had nothing to do with ordering or picking up the pizza. I was only responsible for eating -- which is what I do BEST. Thanks Al. Your pizza is bomb.

The actual name of this business is "Al's Pizza Shop" not "Al's Famous Pizza". I have put in a correction with Yelp. This little shop is located on the corner of 52 and Curley Street in San Antonio (outskirts of Wesley Chapel). Hours Tuesday through Saturday 11 am to 9 pm and Sunday 11 am to 7 pm. Not sure how we missed Al's Pizza Shop after living in this area of Wesley Chapel for the last two years, but glad we found it. They offer the thin crust or deep dish pizza. We have never tried the deep dish therefore we can only vouch for the thin crust. It was good! Cheese sticks are yummy too! The lunch special for two slices and a large fountain drink for $5.00 is a great deal. Variety of salads, sandwiches, as well as Stromboli's are offered. Those are the positives .... the only negatives are that sometimes it will take them forever to answer the phone or they get swamped and they could be running over an hour and a half behind for take out orders. On more than three occasions -- I have tried to call and the phone is busy for over 30 minutes (perhaps they take it off the hook when they get slammed?) They have a good variety of brews: Angry Orchard, Blue Moon, Fat Tire, Jai Alai, and Heineken to name a few. Going to try more on Al's menu -- decent food at a good price.

I've only tried pizza here since people order it at work. It's no big deal in my opinion. It is the only pizza place in San Antonio, so if you are dying for pizza, this is your place. At lunch they have 2 slices for $5. Can't beat that price, but definitely nothing I could die for. It's not horrible, it's just not my kind of pizza. They also have some salads, and chicken wings. Maybe I would like that better.

We found Al's because of a recommendation from a friend. It's a small local business in San Anne that offers some very good pizza and other Italian goodies. They offer two crusts, original and thin and crispy. We ordered a thin and crispy with bacon, pepperoni, jalapeño and sausage. They also offer a Calzone and a Stromboli which we'll try next time. We got ours to go although they do deliver. It was very good and we will go back very soon.

I have eaten a lot of pizza and I have to say that Al's is a great find in San Antonio. They have two crust styles and the thin and crispy is great! They also have calzones and salad. Prices are spot on and not over the top as you find with most other pizza shops. They just did a renovation and remodel just before the new year and it came out great. If you're in the area treat yourself for some lunch.

Unbelievable how poorly managed this place is! This is the third time I have tried to order a pizza from here....the first time they said they were short staffed and the wait time for a pizza was an hour and 45 minutes! The second time they put me on hold for 15 minutes to then tell me that they were no longer taking any pizza orders that night and it was only 7:30pm! And now today...I tried to go to their website, but it is no longer available. I called and ordered a pizza and when I got there to pick it up and pay, the girl said "oh did I forget to tell you that we are only accepting cash tonight?" REALLY? How does this place stay in business? If you are one of the people who actually ends up getting a pizza from here, maybe it's good??? I wouldn't know! I will no longer waste my time trying!

When pulling up to the place I almost just went back home to have freezer pizza. To my surprise this place puts out a pretty decent pie. I'm not sure on price as I didn't pay, but I will warn service was pretty slow. It is only carryout but if they tell you to come at a certain time I would suggest giving them a few extra minutes as it was 15 mins longer than the time they had given us. Often skeptical of a place that is only open from 4 til 8, but they make it work. Great Pizza... Slow service!

Remember when pizza was hand tossed and cooked in a real pizza oven and not dragged through some hot box on a conveyor belt? If you are tired of the assembly line pizza that you get at most of the major pizza chains these days then you owe it to yourself to check out Al's. It is pizza done the old fashioned way. They also have lasagna, calzones, Stromboli, subs, everything you would expect at a pizza place. Well, everything except tables. Yes, Al's is take-out and delivery only but it is worth the drive if you are in the Dade City or San Antonio area. They also serve wings and ice cream. Well, not together, that would be odd.
